The first home that really grabbed us was the St Helena. Right away, it has a nice covered front porch and some curb appeal that gives it personality before you even step inside.

Once inside, the front section of the house has some nice versatility. There is a flex nook just off the entry that could work as:

  • Home office
  • Writing area
  • Creative corner
  • Small sitting room

The model had that space dressed up with decorative wall treatment and a barn door for privacy. That specific finish is optional, but the idea is what matters. It shows how the space can actually be used.

Then there is one of the more creative uses of storage we saw. What would normally be a coat closet had been staged like a little dog station with leash storage, supplies, a bed area, and food setup. Obviously that is model-home fun, but it also reminds us that storage can be customized around real life.

Farther in, the house opens up nicely. The living room is a solid size, and the thing that immediately jumps out is the triple slider. Builders, if you want to impress us, put in sliders. That indoor outdoor feel changes the whole room.

The standard electric fireplace is another nice touch. It gives you the visual focal point without all the upkeep and mess of a traditional fireplace. If your goal is aesthetics and atmosphere, it absolutely gets the job done.

The kitchen keeps the momentum going with a large island, quartz counters, GE appliances, and a corner pantry. We also liked that the breakfast area was not just a token space. You could comfortably fit a real dining setup there.

Another plus is the rear porch situation. You get a covered porch plus an additional sliding glass door off the dining area. The structure is already there, which matters because if you want to add screening later, it is usually far more cost effective than starting from scratch.

A typical range to screen in an already covered porch like this was estimated at around $1,600 to $2,000, which is a useful number to keep in your back pocket.

The third floor that changes everything

Now for the part that makes the St Helena memorable.

One of the coolest practical features in this home was the garage. It had a serious amount of depth, enough to stand out from the typical two car garage setup. For anyone with a truck, workshop needs, bikes, storage racks, or lawn gear, that extra space matters.
